M4 - Al's new short board design for 2004. Explosive performance short board first ridden by Dane Reynolds in the 2003 X-games. A favourite with surfers on tour for ridding small to medium waves. Flat entry rocker to increased tail kick, full rail, and single concave.

MX - The standard of the short board line. Low entry rocker with accelerated rocker out of the tail. Offering a forgiving and responsive feel, the M-X works well with all types of surfers, but best for those who like to trim off the front foot and turn off the back foot.

MBM - Originally developed with Bobby Martinez, now the MBM is the most commonly ridden model by pro level surfers. Versatile enough to be ridden by all types of surfers. Likes to be surfed vertical and in the pocket. Relatively flat under the front foot to a double concave vee combo out the back.

TPH - This all around short board design was adapted from one of Al's 1972 bottoms. Extreme concave creates lift and makes for a lively feel. The board works well with heavier or more powerful surfers who can take advantage of the concaves. The Tri-Plane hull is a combination of a single concave under the front foot and an exaggerated double concave, which creates three planing surfaces under the back foot. A Taylor Knox favourite.

  ' We Recommend'

FLYER II - Widely considered the most versatile short board Al makes. Full rails allow for float in small waves while the swallow tail keeps it solid in overhead surf. Order it 1/8" thinner than your normal short board. Great board for those in between days at Bullies if you don't want to ride a gun.

   ' More Volume ?'

MBB - A high performance short board designed designed for the surfer who wants or needs more volume. Flat deck and a full rail. Order from 6'6" to 8'0" with centre widths from 19 1/2" to 22"+ and thickness from 2 1/2" to 3"+.

Mongrel - The 'Mongrel" is a cross bread between the 1980's full volume, low entry rocker and outline, with modern bottom consisting of single concave to a pronounced vee with concave. While ridden by pro level surfers in all types of surf, the Mongrel excels in small to medium surf due to the wide nose, wide tail, and full rails. Should be ordered one to three inches shorter and a little wider than your all round short board.

  ' GREAT BOARD '

FLYER - The most popular short board in the line. This board excels in small to medium surf but still rides and responds like a conventional short board. Al considers this the best small wave short board he has ever designed. It should be ridden 2"-3" shorter and 1/4" to 1/2" wider than your normal short board.

     'Cult Following'

MTF - Designed for smaller surf. Low entry rocker makes the board extremely fast, twin fin set up equates to a loose feel, while small stabilizing fin keeps the board solid in the pocket. Cult Following.

       Small Waves !

SASHIMI - Originally designed for for contest surfing in small or weak surf. Wide tail for maximum speed over flat spots. Entry rocker is substantial with a single concave running the length of the board and a flat panel exiting off a winged swallow with low tail rocker. Order the Sashimi 2" to 4" shorter than your normal board and 1/2" to 3/4" wider. Great board!

 Performance Funshape !

M13 - This is a performance hybrid that caters to the widest possible type of surfer. Not to be confused with a funshape type board. Paddles like a funshape, but surfs like a short bord

Tow In - This years tow board research has been centred on the development of tow boards for use in medium surf. Boards range in length from 5'6" to 6'6". Designed for turning and airs.

             RETRO

CI FISH - A fish by definition, with two fins and a deep swallow tail. Designed not just as an exercise in nostalgia, but to be user friendly. Al has put his experience and input from the worlds best surfers to make an incredibly fast fast and fun board. Bottom is a light single into double concave through the fins to allow for manoeuvrability uncommon to the fish design. Tested by Dan Malloy & Rob Machado. Ride this one small approx. 4" to 6" smaller than your short board. Available in 5'6",5'10",6'2",6'6" with set width and thickness. Custom available

                 RETRO

MSF - Inspired in 2001 by Rob Machado, the single fin has proven to ride as smooth as it looks. Available as a 5'9",6'1",6'5",6'9",7'0" in fixed width and thickness. All boards come with a polished gloss finish with retro style resin tints or opaques. White pin line is a must to finish her off.

I can recommend this one for summer  afternoon Day street glass off's.

RETRO

MSF-G - 2nd generation single fin. Al and Rob Machado got together in the shaping bay to create this retro beauty. This new collaboration has produced a spiral vee single fin to be ridden narrower than the original first generation. Keep in mind these are great wave catchers and fast movers due to the flatter rockers. Available in 5'10",6'2",6'6",6'10",7'0".

             RETRO

Black Beauty - Replica of Tom Currens famous 1985 Bell's Beach, Occy beating, and world title winning board. Keep in mind this is a retro style board, so it is ridden significantly thicker and wider. Designed with good waves in mind. Available in 6'3",6'6",6'9",7'0". Comes standard with a rounded pin.

                               RETRO

Quad - An exact copy of Al's personal 1982 four fin. This design was dusted off for those looking for a different approach. The lack of a centre fin makes for a loose feel with less drag, the flat rocker provides for down the line speed. Not to be compared with your Tri-fin, but a good board with a unique style and feel.

MSG - Redesigned or 04. Al's new M-SG is twice as versatile as past semi guns. Designed to feel solid yet loose in all types of large surf. A great travel board for cold or warm water power. Available up to 7'6" in length.

MG - This is for bigger waves requiring a board from 7'7" to 8'6". It has a flatter deck for improved paddling, and the thickness is carried out to the rails and tucked for a positive feel in heavy conditions. The bottom contour is flat in the centre flowing to flat-panel vee out the back one third of the board.

Eagles Wing - This board offers the surfer the same features and performance specifically designed for Rob Machado. Soft and forgiving forward rails with a curvy outline to generate speed and maintain extreme manoeuvrability.
